How Pokémon Speed Order Works
Move priority is checked before Speed. A slower Pokémon using a higher-priority move can act before a faster Pokémon using a normal-priority move. When priority is equal, the current Speed values determine order.
What changes current Speed?
Nature, EVs, Choice Scarf, abilities, stat stages, paralysis, and field effects can all change the number used for move order. Tailwind doubles the Speed of the active Pokémon on its side while it remains active.
What does Trick Room change?
Trick Room reverses the usual order within the same priority bracket, allowing slower Pokémon to act first. It does not make low-priority attacks move before higher-priority attacks.
Plan more than one turn
Speed control is valuable only if you can use the turns it creates. Track its remaining duration, protect the setter when necessary, and position a partner that immediately threatens the opposing team.
